Plan to Meet GMS / PMS 2015-16 Contractual Requirement for Patient Online Service

This practice plans to offer the facility for patients to view online, export or print detailed coded information held in their own records from Monday 14.03.2016

These dates are subject to the necessary NHS GP systems and software being available to the practice.

This practice currently offers the facility for patients:

  • to book, view, amend, cancel and print appointments online
  • to order online, view and print a list of their repeat prescriptions for drugs, medicines or appliances
  • to view online, export or print summary information from their record, relating to medications, allergies, adverse reactions and any other items agreed between the practice and individual patient

We will publicise and promote our online services to our practice’s patients through the practice website, practice waiting room leaflets, posters and the Patient Participation Group by Monday 01.02.2016.

Named Accountable GP for all Patients

From 1st April 2015, all practices are required to inform their patients including children of their named accountable GP. The named GP will have overall responsibility for the care and support that the surgery provides to you.  However, you are welcome to see any doctor who is available.
If you would like to know who your named GP is please contact reception.

Book your GP appointment online

You can now book or cancel a GP appointment online as well as viewing your summary care record (you must first register at the surgery with suitable ID).  Just click on the appropriate tab in the Online Services menu.  There is also a useful mobile phone app called SystmOnline available for both Android and Apple users which allows the same facility.

From 1st July, you will no longer be able to request a Fit Note (sick note) by telephone.

Please email and leave your request.

Thank You.

Update contact details.   We are now using email & SMS text for sending appointment reminders and other non-confidential messages (please click the link to open your current email program). You can also email us at  Please include your name and address with any contact changes and your preferred email address and mobile number.

NHS England require that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is publicised and the required disclose is shown below. However, it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparisons with other practices.
The average earnings for GPs working in the Woodlands Family Medical Centre in the last financial year was £92,129 before taxation and National Insurance. This is for 4 full time GPs and 4 part time GPs who worked in the practice for more than 6 months.
